ISLAMABAD: A 75-member Pakistan contingent will feature in the Special Olympics World Games, scheduled to be held from July 25 to August 2 in Los Angeles, USA.
"Pakistan contingent would be consisted of 55 athletes, 18 coaches and two delegates", a spokesman of Special Olympics Pakistan (SOP) said on Friday.
He said that in the 9-day event, Pakistan would compete in nine disciplines including, athletics, aquatics, badminton, cycling, football, basketball, power lifting, tennis and table tennis.
"Our athletes are undergoing a tough training and we are expecting very good show from them," he said.
Over seven thousands players from all over the world would show their muscles in 25 different sports during the quadrennial sports gala. The events will take place at 27 sports arenas and around 30 thousand volunteers will perform various duties during the special persons' sports competitions.
Pakistan had won 59 medals in the last edition of the games, which were held in Athens, four years back in 2011.
