ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister's spokesman Musadiq Malik on Thursday said Karachi was country's economic hub and government was committed to end target killing and street crimes to make it a peaceful city.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said operation against criminals was in full swing in Karachi without any discrimination.
To a question, he said the reforms in police department were top priority of the government and the force will be equipped with modern weapons to enhance its capability.
Chairman Board of Investment Dr. Miftah Ismail, appreciating government policies, said the national economy was growing positively.
He said the government under the supervision of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has launched several projects to overcome the energy crisis, including the construction of Bhasha Dam. International investors were willing to invest here due to government's friendly policies, he added.
Chairman, Trade Development Authority S.M. Muneer said the government was heading in right direction.
Senior Analyst Dr. Shahid Hassan said the reduction in inflation will help reduce poverty. The tax collection has been increased in the era of present government, he added.
He said international institutions have also lauded the performance of the present government.
