Political stability can help cope with challenges: Governor Sindh
KARACHI: Governor Sindh, Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan said on Sunday that political stability can help cope with the prevailing challenges which are being confronted to the country.
He was talking to media during visit to mausoleum of the Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on Independence Day of the country here on Sunday.
He said leaders of all political parties in the province of Sindh jointly visited Mazar-e-Quaid on 65th Independence Day of Pakistan to show political unity.
Talking to media, Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan congratulated the nation on the 'Yom-e-Azadi'.
He said the political leadership in the country and all leaders are playing their role to cope with the challenges confronted to the country.
The Sindh Governor expressed gratitude to leaders of the MQM, ANP, PML-F, PML-Q and PPP for showing their unity by jointly visiting the Mazar-e-Quaid.
He said the political unity is imperative to resolve the problems which are being faced by the countrymen.
Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh Home Minister, Manzoor Hussain Wassan, Sindh Minister for Local Bodies, Agha Siraj Durrani, Administrator Karachi, Fazal-ur- Rehman, DCO Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed, MQM leaders, Syed Sardar Ahmed, Raza Haroon, Babar Ghauri, Abdul Haseeb, Rauf Siddiqi, PML-F Leader Imtiaz Sheikh, ANP leader, Ameer Nawab Khan, PML-Q leaders, Haleem Siddiqi, Ejaz Sheerazi and other notables were also present.
Later, to a question, the Sindh Chief Minister said we want solidarity and unity in the country.
He told another questioner that the representatives of all political parties which are part of the assembly are present and all are making joint efforts to establish peace in Sindh province.
To another question, the Sindh CM said we are pursuing the policy of reconciliation because we want settlement of matters with all parties through talks. We also intend to listen to the point of view of those parties which are not part of the assembly, he added.
He said "we are democratic people and we want to work for the welfare and betterment of the masses".
