SIALKOT: Federal Minister For Ports and Shipping Kamran Michael Tuesday said the government was committed to strengthen Gwadar Port.
Talking to the newsmen here, he said Pakistan was striving to ensure an easy road connectivity between Kashghar-China and Gwadar-Pakistan as 80 percent work on the project had already been completed.
The minister said that the early road connectivity between Gwadar and Kashghar would bring an economic boom under the Pak-China economic corridor besides opening new vistas of socio-economic and human development in the region.
He said the government was also elaborating the Gwadar airport, adding that the Gwadar port was fully operational now.
Kamran Michael vowed to continue the PML-N government's development agenda by taking the business community into confidence, saying that economical agenda was helping in putting the country on the highway of economical stability.
He added that the energy crisis would end in 2017 as the country was importing 4,000 megawatts electricity from China.
The minister said the present government's effective and positive economic policies were now bearing fruits due to which national economy was moving ahead towards a goal of economical stability, saying that the federal government was successfully implementing on several effective and positive economic policies and these policies were now bearing fruits.
The minister pointed out that the government was fully aware of problems of the business community and making an all-out sincere efforts for their amicable solution.
He said the government was also strengthening national economy and boosting the industrial structure besides striving to overcome energy crisis.
Earlier, Federal Minister, Kamran Michael also attended an annual prize distribution ceremony of a private school.
