ISLAMABAD: The visiting World Bank Vice President for South Asia region, Annette Dixon along with her economic team here Friday had another meeting with the Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar reviewing important pending matters.
During the meeting progress with regard to DPC on growth and DPC on sustainable energy reform programme was discussed.
The meeting reviewed progress regarding signing of model supplementary agreements with petroleum companies, measures for streamlining the SRO regime and steps for keeping check on circular debt, said a statement issued by Ministry.
The WB Vice President expressed satisfaction on the progress achieved and specially praised efforts of the Minister of Finance for resolution of various issues.
She also appreciated efforts of the Ministry of Water and Power to bring down the circular debt to Rs. 280 billion and hoped in the long run, this problem could be fully resolved.
Ms Anette Dixon said the progress achieved by Pakistan would come under review at the WB's Operations Committee meeting to be held in Washington on April 10.
She said, it was the whole hearted desire of the WB to keep up its support for economic development in Pakistan.
She thanked the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and his team for the extensive briefing on progress achieved in different economic spheres.
