SIALKOT: District police have arrested 628 proclaimed offenders (POs) and recovered stolen and snatched 79 motorcycles, six cars, electronics items, cash and other valuables worth of Rs. 35 million during the first three months of this year.
This was disclosed by DPO Dr Shehzad Asif Khan while talking to newsmen here Sunday. He added that the police also smashed 30 well-organized inter-district gangs of dacoits and arrested 122 members of these gangs.
The DPO said the police also recovered illegal weapons including 16 kalashnikoves, 72 guns, 91 different kinds rifles, 477 pistols, 14 revolvers, nine carbines and 8216 bullets from the criminals during a special campaign.
The police, he said, also recovered 3.5 KGs heroin, 168 KGs Charas and 2105 litter wine, unearthed 27 distilleries and sent 65 drunkard behind the bars during same period.
