sweden-flagSTOCKHOLM: Sweden's unemployment rate, measured by the number of registered jobless, fell to 7.2 percent in July from 7.4 percent in June, the Swedish Public Employment Service (SPES) said on Tuesday.

The employment authority said in a statement the total number of people unemployed or in job programmes was 365,000 while 36,000 new vacancies were advertised in the month.

SPES bases its measure on the number of job-seekers who register with the Swedish labour board while the statistics office (SCB) releases a separate measure of joblessness, which is based on a survey.
