SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said the minorities are enjoying complete religious freedom in the country and the present government was making all out efforts for protecting the rights of the minorities.
He stated this while addressing the participants of a ceremony held at TMA Hall Narowal on Sunday, after distributing the Christmas grant cheques of Rs 3500 each to 70 deserving Christians.
Local MPAs Khawaja Waseem Butt, Rana Manan Khan, Assistant Commissioner Narowal Mian Behzad Adil and local notables were also present on this occasion.
He said the Christian community was playing an important role with the Muslims for national prosperity and solidarity.
The minister said that every religion of the world gives the lessons of love, peace, unity, and respect of the humanity.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the PML-N government was striving for safeguarding the rights of the minorities, besides, ensuring the protection of their lives and properties as well.
