HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks dropped 1.34 percent on Thursday as dealers fretted about the state of the world economy.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index fell 262.76 points to 20,016.27 on turnover of HK$72.18 billion ($9.26 billion).
Chinese shares ended down 1.61 percent with plays falling across the board on worries over possible government moves to slow the property market and weaker domestic consumption, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index points ended 41.79 points lower at 2,559.47 on turnover of 76.1 billion yuan ($11.9 billion).
