ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed shock and grief at the tragic sinking of a ferry on the Yangtze river.
The boat was carrying 458 tourists, mostly from China.
In a letter to his Chinese counterpart Premier Li Keqiang, the Prime Minister offered condolences on the tragedy and conveyed that the people of Pakistan shared the anguish and sorrow of their Chinese brethren.
He hoped that the people of China will come out of this tragedy with their usual resilience and courage.
The unfortunate ferry was on a trip from Nanjing to Chongqing and capsized in rough weather conditions.
