FAISALABAD: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of killing three girls by their father on Sunday last in Chak No.113-GB Phalahi, the area of Chak Jhumra police station.
The Chief Minister also announced Rs 500,000 and government job for mother of the ill-fated girls.
Shahbaz Sharif also ordered to arrest the culprit Irshad Ahmad within 48 hours.
On the direction of Chief Minister, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noorul Amin Mengal and City Police Officer (CPO) Afzaal Kausar visited the family of the deceased girls and told them that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed grief and sorrow over this tragic incident.
They also assured that the accused would be brought to justice while mother of the girls would be provided financial assistance of Rs 500,000 and a government job on the order of Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, the CPO constituted a special police team headed by SP Madina Town Malik Jameel Jafar, DSP Nishatabad Osaf Safdar Wahla and SHO Chak Jhumra Inspector Ghulam Shabbir to arrest the accused.
Irshad Ahmad had strangled his three daughters including twin Eman Fatima and Chashman Fatima (7 years), and Fiza (5.5 years) on Sunday.
Police registered a case on the complaint of Abdul Sattar, maternal grandfather of deceased girls.
The complainant told to police that his daughter Shabana Naz was married about 8 years ago and she gave birth of twin girls owing to which her husband used to indulge in altercation and mentally torture to her.
Shabana after altercation on Sunday went to her relatives house to attend a marriage function along with her one son and another daughter who were luckily survived as they were not present in the house.
