imageISLAMABAD: Minister for Information,Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid said on Wednesday that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif would play his role in creating an atmosphere of reconciliation and would talk to all stakeholders as he was the prime minister of all Pakistanis and all institutions.

Talking to media persons after inaugurating the Club book shop of National Book Foundation at Islamabad Club, he said the government's stance about national security institutions was very clear as they are respectable for all.

He said national security institutions were performing their constitutional obligations and during past one year of Operation Zarb-e-Azb. They have rendered unprecedented sacrifices and every Pakistani was indebted to the national institutions in elimination of terrorism and making Pakistan a safe and secure country for future generations.

Pervaiz Rashid said that the proposed meeting between the Prime Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party chairperson Asif Zardari was postponed as time was not right for such an interaction.

He said that the cabinet colleagues suggested to the prime minister that the meeting should be delayed for the time being.

He said that Asif Zardari is head of one of the largest national political party and remained head of the state and therefore he is well aware of the sensitivities and complexities that can emerge after such statements.

"As a nation we feel pride in sacrifices and achievements our security institutions in war against terrorists and it would be better for all to be very careful in choice of diction regarding our valiant forces."

The jawans and officers of the forces have given countless sacrifices for making the city of Karachi and province of Sindh peaceful and rid them from the target killers and extortionists.

He said that apex committee was best forum to discuss any reservations as raising such issues at public places or in front of media would further aggravate and worsen the situation rather than improving things.

Pervaiz Rashid said that Asif Zardari was a senior politician and he greatly respected him, and it was his desire that such statements which hurt sentiments of others should be withdrawn.

He said that if such a statement would be withdrawn,it would be in the national interest as the country needed unity and consensus in the wake of challenges like terrorism.

He categorically refuted the reports about any proposal to impose Governor rule in Sindh province by saying that there was no such proposal.

About Indian prime minister's telephone to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif,he said that it was a step in right direction.

Earlier addressing the NBF ceremony, he said that people's love for books has not diminished, rather they were deprived of the opportunities to read books. Now the NBF has started the journey to revive the book reading habit among the people and sale of tens of thousands of books at NBF book shops was its demonstration.

He said that Pakistani society was an enlightened society and time has come that continue strive be made to spread the light of knowledge without fear of any forces.
