ISLAMABAD: A Free Trade Zone is being established at Gwadar to attract investment in manufacturing and export of goods.
According to Radio Pakistan quoting an official sources, land acquisition for the purpose has been completed for setting up of the zone over 9.23 square kilometers, adjacent to the port.
The project is being executed by Gwadar Free Zone Company, which also plans to establish a large Exhibition Centre adjacent to the Port for display of Chinese and Pakistani products.
Meanwhile, Gwadar Port Eastbay Expressway project costing fourteen billion rupees is being initiated under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to resolve the port connectivity with the highway network.
The expressway will connect Gwadar Port with Makran Coastal Highway, passing along the east bay of Gwadar City.
A rail link along the expressway is also part of the project.
