LONDON: European stock markets advanced in opening trade on Thursday, with London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares adding 0.76 percent to 5,245.22 points.
Elsewhere, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index gained 1.03 percent to 5,739.86 points and in Paris the CAC 40 added 0.90 percent to 3,167.66 points.
