Café Koel – Talk of the town!
KARACHI: Want to get away from the noisy city streets? Want a place to sit and eat with a good...no...great ambience? Then you've come to the right place. Café Koel. That's the word around town these days as far as eateries go.
Previously an art gallery and a showroom of domestic and international crafts the aim of the eatery is to cater to the young.
Owned and operated by Noor Jehan Belgrami and Rasikh Ismail, Koel offers great ambience with the rays of the sun peeping through the tree tops. One can be seated outdoors amongst the water body under the trees or indoors with a brilliant view of the garden outside.
The food also complements the ambience. Their appetizer of sesame chicken with a fries and dip is something wonderful one can start with. The main course may consist of four different platters. A suggested offering would be grilled chicken breast with zesty prawns with a sideline of garlic rice and vegetable skewer. Another platter to order is the parmesan crusted fish, which is a single flat fish fillet with a dip.
One can wash one’s food down with lemonade or “sikanjabeen” not forgetting their famous chocolate pudding oozing with hot chocolate sauce.
