DG KHAN: Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon on Sunday said 'Waseela Taleem' programme, would be launched soon in DG Khan Division to ensure educational facilities for poor children.
She said the programme had already been started in 32 districts across the country.
She was addressing a ceremony which was participated by hundreds of poor women at New Vision School Choti-Zaireen here.
Marvi Memon said the prime minister had a vision that every child should go to school and added Rs 250 were being given to each child under the programme.
She said a survey would be re-conducted to ensure more induction of women in the programme. The women would be registered in a transparent manner through identification cards, she added.
Currently, 655,197 deserving women were benefiting from the programme as Rs 4,500 were provided to each woman after three months, she said.
Marvi Memon said she was visiting DG Khan Division to extend cheques timely to the needy women.
She added the BISP was a gift and the government was trying its best to end poverty from the country.
Marvi said the government was also providing interest free loans under 'Akhuwat Micro-Finance' to empower women as the deserving women could initiate business and improve future of their families.
MPA Sardar Jamal Leghari also spoke and lauded pro-poor steps of the incumbent government.
Divisional Director BISP Nasira Batool and Director Uzair Siddique were also present.
