LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that the Lahorites would not vote for Imran Khan's candidate in NA 122 as he insolently calls names to Metrobus- the mode of transportation of millions of Lahorites.
" Metro bus has provided expedient transport facility to the mothers, daughters and sons of Lahore who had to face the overcrowded vans in the past while PML?N leadership has provided the voters an honourable source of transportation in the form of Metro bus", he said while responding to the media men at a local hotel on Tuesday.
The Federal Information Minister said Metro bus is refelective of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's love and Chief Minister Shahbaz Shairf's toil which had turned Lahore into a model city of gardens, flowers and roads, adding that Metro bus commuters would vote for PML-N while Imran Khan may have his Pajeros.
"The real contest in NA 122 is between Metro bus commuters of PML-N and Pajero riders of PTI as millions of Metro bus commuters will beat dozens of Pajeros", he added.
To a question, he said PML-N leadership has multiple achievements to flaunt while PTI has nothing to offer to the masses in the by-polls of NA 122.
Referring to Imran Khan NA 122 by-polls speech at Doongi Ground Samanabad the other day, Pervaiz Rashid said PTI Chairman Imran Khan had no achievements in the KPK to win the voters in NA 122, adding that Imran Khan had badly failed to deliver in the KPK and raised empty slogans while a contestant presents party's achievements to the voters during an election campaign.
To another question, he said What could Imran offer to the voters of NA 122 when his KPK government has not been able to achieve anything in KPK as there are no milk and honey canals for masses, books for school children, free medicine to the sick and carpeted roads in Peshawar.
About KPK Chief Minister Pervaiz Khatak's campaign in NA 122, the Minister said the KPK CM should have brough with him pictures of Peshawar in order to comapre and contrast the standards of cleanliness, and beauty of the two cities.
To the question, the Information Minister said "PTI had called all workers from Gawadar to Turkhum in the Samanabad election jalsa".
About any reservations by PTI and PML-N in NA 122 by-polls, Senator Pervaiz said if PML-N had any reservations it would adopt the legal path, adding that PML-N did not follow those who practised politics of allegations at D Chowk and then fled away in no time.
"Whether the ballot papers are provided under the supervision of the military, through armoured vehicles or via F-16, it does not matter to the PML-N as the voters would still fill the ballott boxes with the stamp of lion - PML-N's election symbol", he observed.
To another query, the minister said that Imran Khan politics is nothing but politics of allegations and lies.
He said that ballot papers of the 11 October by polls in NA 122 would carry stamps of lion, adding that Imran Khan's attempt to browbeat PML-N candidate in the election of 1997 failed as he lost election with the symbol of lamp, in 2002 election Imran Khan's bat was broken by the PML-N candidate while in 2013 election, PTI Chairman Imran Khan lost his bat as well as the election.
