FAISALABAD: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said the PML-N government would extend the mission of serving the masses with the help of elected representatives of local bodies in the province.
In a meeting with elected chairmen and vice-chairmen at his office on Monday, he said democracy would further strengthen at grass root level by the election of chairmen and vice chairmen who would play their role in resolving problems of the people at street level.
He said funds would be allocated to elected representatives of local government who would spend the funds on development schemes in their respective union councils.
He said that local body board led by Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif would decide the suitable candidate for mayor of the city.
The minister said that more uplift schemes would be undertaken for development of PP-70 adding that an amount of Rs 50 million would be spent on construction of Nisar Colony Eidgah Chowk Road via Manan Town and Raja Town.
