KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday sought comments from Director General Rangers Sindh, Inspector General of Police Sindh, and Home Secretary on the petitions seeking whereabouts of two Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers.
SHC bench, headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto, was seized with the hearing of petitions against law enforcers for illegally detaining MQM workers Imran Nisar and Shahnawaz Khan.
According to the petitioners, Imran was detained by the law enforcers when he was at his pan shop on 3rd November within the jurisdiction of Kwaja Ajmer Nagri police station. Another man, Shahnawaz was picked on 5th November from New Karachi. The whereabouts of both have not been traced out yet.
The families of both the persons alleged that their relatives are in custody of law enforcement agencies but they are not disclosing their arrest.
