ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday once again granted one day exemption to General (retd) Pervaiz Musharraf from appearing before the court after examining his medical report.
ATC-II judge Sohail Ikram granted the exemption when Musharraf's counsel, Muhammad Ilyas Siddiqi, moved an application for exemption along with medical certificate stating Musharraf's medical condition, in a judge's detention case.
Meanwhile, Prosecutor Aamir Nadeem Tabish objected that such medical certificates were already submitted so many times and even arrest warrants had been issued for Musharraf over non-appearance so court should not take a lenient position in this matter. Subsequently, the court adjourned the matter till November 27.
It is pertinent to mention that on next hearing counsel for litigants would present their arguments on the cancellation of arrest warrants for Musharraf.
