FAISALABAD: Provincial Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah Khan Monday said the Punjab government had spent Rs 45 billion on various development projects in the district.
He said this while addressing a get-together of newly elected chairmen of city and district councils at Sidhupur here.
He said the amount was spent on projects including Canal Express Way, Jhal Chowk Under Pass, Children Hospital, Government General Hospital Haseeb Shaheed Colony and Water Supply Project.
He expressed the hope that the government would sanction Rs 100 billion development package for Faisalabad.
This amount would be spent for the provision of basic facilities including clean drinking water, betterment of sewerage system and starting of Metro Bus.
He said that PML-N candidates for the slot of mayor and district chairman would be decided by the local bodies board.
He welcomed independent UC chairmen on their joining the PML-N.
