LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that sincere efforts of the government for eliminating terrorism and energy crisis were yielding positive results.
Talking to members of National and Provincial Assemblies here on Sunday, he said the government was striving to resolve the problems of the people on a priority basis.
He said the nation had united to root out terrorists and make Pakistan a haven of peace.
He said thousands of Pakistanis had laid down their lives in the war against terrorism and their sacrifices would not go waste, adding, the war against terrorism would continue till elimination of the last terrorist.
The chief minister said that the aim of progress and prosperity of the country could not be realized without elimination of terrorism and energy crisis.
He said that no effort was being spared for resolving energy crisis and under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif work was in progress speedily on several energy projects throughout the country.
He said that thousands of megawatt electricity would be added to the national grid with the completion of energy projects by the end of 2017.
The chief minister said that the increasing investment in
the country reflected the confidence in the leadership of the Prime Minister and economic policies of the government.
Federal Minister for Defense Production Rana Tanvir Hussain, MNA Chaudhry Asad-ur-Rehman, MPA Inamullah Khan Niazi and former MNA Hanif Abbasi were among those who met the chief minister.
