KARACHI: Federal Minister for Water and Power, Khawaja Asif on Monday said complexities related to Karachi Operation are being fine tuned to ensure that sacrifices rendered by Rangers and Police for restoration of law and order in the metropolis may not go in vain.
Addressing a reception hosted here by Karachi Industrialists' Forum he said peace in Karachi was prerequisite for the survival of the country hence no compromise can be made in continuing with the operation.
"Yet the government realizing its responsibilities will ensure that stakeholders are kept on board without providing any opportunity to the unscrupulous elements," said the federal minister.
He said masses need to realize their power guaranteed under the constitution and see that their representatives are held accountable for any deterioration in specific context of law and order situation.
"Those failing to fulfill their commitment and promises made during electioneering must not be voted to power during next polls," said Khawaja Asif.
Highly appreciative of the performance of the law enforcing agencies in Karachi, he said that it was due to their dedication and commitment that marked improvement has been registered in Karachi during past one and a half year's time.
He said operation in Karachi has to be continued against terrorists and mafia depriving people of their basic requirements as
water, housing and above all security of life.
