ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) will hold trials to select men and women tennis teams for the South Asian Games on December 28 and December 31, respectively here at Pakistan Sports Board.
India will host South Asian Games (SAG) in Guwahati and Shillong from Feb 6-16 2016.
In order to select men's team, trials will start on December 28th at PSB/PTF hard courts, said a press release issued here on Sunday.
The invited players include Muhammad Abid Mushtaq, Shehzad Khan, Yasir Khan, Heera Ashiq, Ahmed Chaudhry, Mudassir Murtaza,Usman Rafiq. The criteria for the trial will be round robin format best of three set matches. The invited women players are: Sara Mansoor, Sarah Mahboob Khan, Ushna Suhail, Eman Qureshi, Rida Khalid, Maheen Dada, Maheen Aftab, Ghuncha, Aleena Aftab, Oreen Khan, Noor Rashid Malik and Rida Khalid.
Depending on the number of reported players, the players will be divided into two groups and will compete against each other in a round robin format. Two girls will be selected from each group for second phase for another round of robin matches between the top four players.
All the players have been advised to report to Inamul Haq at Syed Dilawar Abbas PTF Complex. The players have also been asked to send their digital photo to PTF through email for onward submission to Pakistan Olympic Association POA.
