imageRAWALPINDI: Anti polio drive ended in district Rawalpindi here. During the campaign, almost 811,000 children in the district below five years of age were administered polio drops. 1740 teams were constituted to achieve the target.

This was stated by the Executive District Health Officer Dr. Arshad Ali Sabir talking to APP on Sunday. Special counters were established at public parks, railway stations, bus stands, wagon stands, airport and other transit points to administer anti-polio drops to the children.

He praised the teachers, social workers and staff of the district health department who played a key role to make the campaign result oriented.

Dr. Arshad said the district health department is making all out efforts to make Rawalpindi polio-free.

He said that the drive was extended for one more day so that no child up to the age of five years could remain unattended, he added.
