ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF), President, Col(R) Shujat Ali Rana on Friday said he has high hopes from the national judokas to perform well in the South Asian Games (SAG) to be held in India next month.
Talking to APP, Rana said PJF in collaboration with the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) have organized the players' camp in Peshawar. "The players are being trained by Iranian coach Sajjad Khatami and national coach Muhammad Talib," he said.
He said the team to be sent in the Games will include 7 male and 8 female players.
"The male players include Mudassar Ali, Babar Hussain, Imtaiz Hussain, Qasir Khan, Karamat Butt, Afzal Bashir and Shah Hussain Shah."
"The female players are Irum Shahzadi, Hamir Ashiq, Marium, Shumalya Gul, Ambreen Masih, Sonam Barkat, Benish Khan and Fozia Mumtaz."
He said in the 2010 Games at Bangladesh, national judo team bagged 3 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals. "Therefore we have high hopes from the players to do well in the Games," he said.
