imageISLAMABAD: An Iranian venture called the `Wall of Kindness' has also emerged in Islamabad and Gujranwala that previously has been setup in Karachi, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Lahore, Multan, Quetta and Sahiwal.

In Islamabad the wall has been created by the students of International Islamic University whereas in Gujranwala it has been setup on the Sui Gas Road by the local youngsters, a private news channel reported.

The wall first appeared in the Iranian city Mashhahd in December last year after which the idea spread like a fire in various other countries.

The idea of the initiative is to provide clothes, shoes and other necessary items to the poor who do not ask for it otherwise and are quite hesitant.

Few hooks and hangers are fixed onto the wall on which the people hang their used belongings. The needy ones visit the wall and take pieces of their choice.

A slogan written on the wall "Donate everything for helpless people" motivates the nation to take part in the great cause.

So far, these walls of kindness have been set up in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Bannu, Quetta, Multan, Gujranwala, Sahiwal and Karachi.

The project started from Mashhad, Iran and quickly spread to other cities as well.

The best part about it is that anyone who needed anything could take anything they needed without feeling awkward or undignified. This project soon picked up momentum and also went viral on social networks for the simplicity and success it garnered.

They are not only being provided clothing and other wearable but also packaged edibles and milk as well.

Pakistan is considered one of the most charitable countries across the globe. At a larger scale, NGO's and other welfare programs, citizens individually and in groups also donate to charity and work towards poverty alleviation.
