Pakistan cricket board calls Ex-Cricketer Basit Ali and likely to given the task of bating consultant with the national cricket team. Ali is expected to be told to join the national team as batting consultant.
According to local media reports, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Shahryar Khan and Head of Executive Committee Najam Sethi have spoken to Basit and called him to Lahore. They spoke to him after the advise of Test Captain Misbah-Ul-Haq and senior batsman Younis Khan to resolve the batting issues. Shahid Afridi had also agreed to utilize Basit's services in the World T20.
Reportedly, Misbah and Younis have suggested that Ali is aware of the domestic cricket setup and the players and could be a big help for a Pakistani batting lineup. Younis also suggested to Chairman PCB that he should look at hiring a foreign coach for the team in future. If Basit is appointed he will replace the current batting coach Grant flower.
Basit Ali had played 19 Tests and 50 One-day Internationals and has been coach of the Sui Northern Gas team in domestic cricket.
