ANKARA: An explosion, apparently in a vehicle, rocked the centre of the Turkish capital Ankara on Tuesday, causing some casualties and damaging surrounding vehicles, Turkish broadcasters reported.

The cause of the blast was not immediately clear. No further details were immediately available. Thick smoke rose from the area in central Ankara.
