LAHORE: Pakistan People's Party Punjab president Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo said on Tuesday `Pakistan Day' reminds the determination and hardwork of the Muslims of sub-continent for a separate homeland to live with dignity, peace and follow their own beliefs.
Expressing his views on Pakistan Day, March 23 while talking to APP, he said `Pakistan Day' is celebrated to pay a tribute to untiring efforts made by Quaid-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and sacrifices rendered by forefathers of the nation.
He said Lahore resolution paved the way for creation of an independent Muslim state that came into being as a result of massive struggle and sacrifices.
He said it was now responsibility of the youth and new generation to take this nation to the edge of pride.
"Great nations never forget its history and now, it is the time to contribute on our part with full determination to compete with the present challenges and lead the nation towards social and economic stability," he said.
Wattoo said that promotion of tolerance and humanism would deepen values for all segments of society including minorities.
He said education is the key to success for the nation and youth should learn modern education for the progress of the country.
