imageLAHORE: Country Director World Bank in Pakistan Patchamuthu Illangovan called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and appreciated the steps taken for the betterment of social sectors in Punjab.

He said under the vibrant leadership of Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab government has introduced commendable reforms in different sectors.

He said completion of various public welfare projects in the province in a record period of time is reflective of extraordinary performance and hard work of Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

He lauded the development vision of Shehbaz Sharif and said he is working round the clock for the uplift of social sectors.

He condemned Gulshan Iqbal Park tragedy and expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said Gulshan Iqbal Park tragedy is a brutal incident of terrorism in the history of Punjab.

He said that terrorists have targeted innocent children, women and elderly persons and every person is grieved over this tragic incident.

He said terrorists have no religion and they are enemies of the whole humanity. Shehbaz Sharif said, "We should unite to root out the menace of terrorism."

He said there is no room for terrorism and extremism in Pakistan of Quaid and establishment of society based on restraint and tolerance is our mission.
