After the much hyped Freedom 251, which is dubbed as the cheapest smartphone in the world, priced Indian Rs251, another smartphone is doing the round with an absurd price tag of Indian Rs888.
Yes, you heard it right, as per reports by NDTV, Docoss, a Jaipur-based company has announced an entry-level smartphone at a price tag of Rs 888. The deliveries of the Docoss X1 will begin from May 2, while pre-bookings would close on Friday, according to the company.
However, this announcement has raised doubts, similar to the Ringing Bells, Freedom 251. This might turn out to another scam, where an unknown company tries to make some quick fix.
Previously, the Freedom 251 witnessed a high-profile launch couple of months back, it then received over 73.5 million bookings. However, the claims by the makers of Freedom 251 were soon marred by charges of fraud and financial irregularities.
As per Docoss website, the new smartphone features dual-SIM, with 3G support. The Docoss X1 has a 4-inch IPS display, a 2-megapixel rear camera, and 0.3MP front camera, and a 1,300 mAh battery. As per the storage, the X1 comes with 4GB Internal storage and 1GB RAM. The mobile consist an extendable memory slot, while the Memory can be extended up to 32 GB using MicroSD Card.
As per Mashable, it runs on Android KitKat 4.4, and is powered by a 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 dual core processor. The report adds that India is world’s second-largest and one of the fastest-growing smartphone markets in the world, but with a large customer base having a low purchasing power has created an immense demand for low-budget smartphones.
