imageGoogle Chrome has been crowned as the top internet browser, finally ending the supremacy of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.

According to NETMARKETSHARE, Google Chrome now sits with 41.73 percent market share just ahead of Explorer, which is just behind with 41.33pc.

As per BetaNews, in doing so NetMarketShare, the web analytics Company has become the last major company, to announced Google Chrome as the most popular desktop web browser. Other firms in this market have already rated Chrome as the market leader with an even more comfortable margin over Internet Explorer.

For example, StatCounter, says that Google Chrome enjoys whooping 60.47pc share, whereas, Firefox sits on the second place with 15.62 percent. Surprisingly, Internet Explorer is on the last spot, having just 13.25pc usage share.

However, what is the difference between Net Market Share and any other web analytics? The difference lies in Methodology as per Net Market Share, which says, “We collect data from the browsers of site visitors to our exclusive on-demand network of HitsLink Analytics and SharePost clients. The network includes over 40,000 websites, and spans the globe. We ‘count’ unique visitors to our network sites, and only count one unique visit to each network site per day.”

The bad news for Internet Explorer is that it doesn’t seem to regain the top spot on the list, as Microsoft draws its attention towards the new Edge browser to attract PC users, as it comes preinstalled on Windows 10.
