Fast food giant KFC has launched edible nail polish which tastes like KFC signature chicken. Ever since they have announced their new venture, it has stormed the internet all over.
KFC Hong Kong this week released two nail polish colours, Hot & Spicy - an orange shade and a nude shade called Original Recipe, adorned with their trademark red and white packaging and slogan ‘It's finger lickin' good’.
KFC has taken its tag line way too seriously. The nail polish is sourced from natural ingredients which make it completely edible.
According to BBC taste test, the spicy flavour tasted almost exactly like the paste used in KFC's hot & spicy chicken. It definitely lingered on the tongue, but we couldn't detect any fried chicken flavour. It was same for original recipe polish: nice balance of spice accented by black pepper, but again, no chicken.
Reporters at the Wall Street Journal said it glides on the nail but has trouble sticking and dries up quickly. According to the bottle you must keep it refrigerated as it only lasts for five days.
Ogilvy & Mather worked with McCormick & Co. (MKC), the spice company that provides KFC's mix of 11 herbs and spices, to create the nail polishes for KFC Hong Kong, which debuted the product at a tasting event Tuesday, and then followed up Thursday with a Facebook post where people can weigh in on their favorite flavor.
