awsertISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Tuesday that China had dedicated its embassy premises in Islamabad to Pakistan for Media University and the two countries would soon sign an agreement on this matter.

"The university will be established as soon as China shifts its embassy to new building," she said this while talking to media-persons.

The minister said that the university would benefit the media in Pakistan and it would further strengthen ties between the two countries.

She said that China's role in the changing scenario was very important and the visit by the Chinese Deputy Prime Minister was aimed at expressing solidarity with Pakistan. It also shows that China always supports Pakistan in difficult times, she said.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said that China always supported Pakistan's policies in tackling terrorism and other matters. She also greeted Chinese people on their sixty-second National Day and expressed the hope that China would continue making progress in all fields.

She said that the foundation of Pakistan-China friendship was laid by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and it was carried forward resolutely by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

She said that the friendship between the two countries was being further strengthened by President Asif Ali Zardari.
