ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister's offer to form Joint Parliamentary Committee would help towards logical conclusion of conflict surfaced after the Panama Papers leaks.
This was stated by Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar while speaking in the National Assembly after the speech of Prime Minister in the House on Monday.
He said that point of view of the opposition was not understandable as it was not ready to comprehend anything.
He said the Prime Minister had proposed a committee, which would be the appropriate forum to go into details.
The minister said that there was division among Opposition parties about looking into the conflicting issues after Panama leaks.
He said that PPPP and PML wanted to form a committee while other parties had asked to write to the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
He said that a meeting was held on April 20 for looking into the matter and Prime Minister expressed his willingness on April 21, to write a letter as per desire of the opposition parties.
He said it was very strange to object after Prime Minister had agreed to present evidence before any forum which would be agreed by the opposition.
He said some modalities were agreed for the proceeding of the House today but the opposition parties totally behaved in a different way.
He said there was no justification to stage a walkout after the speech of Prime Minister as the opposition's demand about PM statement in the House had been fulfilled.
He stressed to resolve the issue through Parliamentary Committee or at any other forum. "Justice is for everybody and nobody is above law", he said adding that there would be no immunity or amnesty for anyone.
Ishaq Dar said that country was on road of economic prosperity and power generation projects were underway to overcome electricity shortage.
He appealed to the opposition to demonstrate serious attitude and come towards logical conclusion of the issue.
