PM Gilani calls for All Parties Conference
KARACHI: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has called for the All Parties Conference at the PM House in the federal capital on Thursday.
The APC has been called in response to the recent dent in the Pakistan-US relations regarding the Haqqani Network.
Attending the APC are Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Shujaat, Pakitan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, Awami National Party (ANP) leader Asfandyar Wali, chief of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rasheed, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, director general (DG) military operations and Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha.
Other leaders were also expected to attend the conference.
However, Balochistan was conspicuous by absence as Balochistan National Party (BNP) President Sardar Akhtar Mengal formally rejected the conference over as they term "the government's genocide" in Balochistan.
