Lyari Express Way

City District Government has the distinction that in its tenure due to President General Pervez Musharraf and City Nazim Naimatullah Khan special concern two projects ie Lyari Express Way and Northern Bypass were started.
Work on these project is going are speedily and hopefully Northern Bypass would be completed this year after which entry of heavy traffic in the city would be banned. The cost of this project is estimated at rupees 2928 million.
Lyari Express Way is 16.5 kilo metre long double way highway. It will start from Sohrab Goth and going over both banks of Lyari River will end at Mauripur.
This project of historical nature due to encroachments on river bed witnessed many controversies.
City Government devised a plan under which 72,000 people living in 14,811 houses are being rehabilitated at Hawks Bay Scheme 42, Tesar Town Scheme 45 and Baldia Scheme 29.
