US cotton export sales highlights
USDA cotton export sales highlights for latest reporting week:
Net Upland sales of 89,300 RB were 58 percent below the previous week and the prior 4-week average. The primary buyers were China (26,600 RB), Bangladesh (10,600 RB), Colombia (8,400 RB), Taiwan (8,000 RB), Thailand (6,900 RB), Japan (6,800 RB), Turkey (5,400 RB), and Indonesia (5,100 RB).
Sales of 22,700 RB for delivery in 2004/05 were primarily for Japan (13,300 RB) and Mexico (4,300 RB).
Exports of 175,200 RB were 8 percent short of the week earlier and 11 percent less than the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (96,200 RB), Turkey (12,800 RB), Japan (12,100 RB), Indonesia (9,400 RB), Mexico (6,700 RB, including late reporting of 1,300 RB), and Brazil (6,200 RB).
