The District Development Committee (DDC) has approved 162 new development schemes with an out lay of Rs 109.785 million for the provision of basic amenities in the different rural and urban areas of Faisalabad district.
The approval was given here in a meeting held under the chairmanship of DCO Tahir Hussain, which was attended by EDOs Finance, Works and Services, Education, Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry, Mian Riaz Ahmad, Mian Abdul Rauf.

The TMOs Jaranwala, Faisalabad Sadar and City TMAs and others concerned also attended.
The technical aspects of different uplift schemes were discussed at length and necessary amendments were made in some schemes in the larger public interest.
The schemes with estimates above the allocation were referred back to the District Council for its approval by the house.
It was informed during the meeting that the Sui gas facility would be provided to the residents of Mohallah Rasulpura and Bismillah Town with the cost of Rs 3.5 million while, Rs 1.045 million would be spent on re-construction of bridge of Dijkot.
A six lane, athletics track in Crescent Sport Complex, Wrestling Stadium at Sport Complex Samanabad and Gymnasium Hall at Chak No 263-RB Dijkot would be constructed with an expenditure of Rs 16.200 million out of a Federal Government grant.
The approved schemes include 53 scheme of Faisalabad Development Authority, 47 of Building Department, 32 of TMA Jaranwala, 11 of Fesco, four each of TMA (Sadar), WASA and Roads Department; 2 of TMA (City), 3 of Sports and, one each of SNGPL and Irrigation Department.
The DCO asked the officers of executing agencies to ensure the completion of development schemes within the stipulated period and which quality of construction work.
