Refugees from occupied Jammu and Kashmir settled in Sialkot and Narowal districts have urged upon the visiting prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee to take immediate steps for stopping the excessive barbarism and killing of innocent Kashmiris in held valley.
They said that Saarc platform is the best forum for Indian prime minister for announcing the stoppage of excessive killing and normalising the daily life in held Kashmir.
The world has penetrated its attention on Saarc summit and wishing for flexible attitude of Pakistan and India on this historic occasion for fruitful and durable outcome of their differences they added.
In press statements they called upon the Indian prime minister to opt rational approach and practical steps for resolving more than half-century-old Kashmir disputes according to aspirations of Kashmiris and in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.
The President All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Sialkot district Hafiz Muhammad Raza said that it was heartening to note that Indian prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee has realised the gravity of the Kashmir issue.
Quoting the interview of Indian prime minister with DD television before living for Pakistan, he said was indicating that "ice is melting" and Indian leaders are considering for the solution of this half-century-old dispute.
Hafiz Muhammad Raza said that it is high time that Indian government should take appropriate stride for the stoppage homicide of innocent Kashmiris and other atrocities in held Kashmir immediately for restoring and rebuilding confidence of Kashmiris Muslims.
The Kashmiris have initiated the movement in held Kashmir, with the aim of liberating their motherland from the Indian yoke he said.
The district president All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference further said that the liberation movement launched the Kashmiris have now reached at its peak and it could not be crushed by the dint of any force and barbarism.
Hafiz Raza said that its crystal clear that present era is an epoch of economic development and not bloodshed adding that the all peace loving nations have always condemned ever excess especially the carnage in every nook and corner of the globe.
He said that bloodshed in held valley must be stopped because it was not a solution of the dispute.
The commencing of meaningful table talks is the best possible way to resolve this burning issue and for restoring the peace in the sub-continent on permanent grounds he was of the opinion he said.
Another prominent Kashmiri leader of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Ejaz Ahmad Sheikh also urged upon the Indian prime minister to announce the stoppage of growing homicide of innocent Kashmiris in held state struggling just for their right of self-determination.
