Never before in the history of the land of the pure, an attempt was made by suicide bombers to take the life of the Head of State.
The pertinent questions are in the minds of the thoughtful Pakistanis who would like to see Pakistan a modern progressive country.
Will the people of Pakistan ever be informed about the truth as to who is behind this well-planned killing mission?
Who are high-profile persons or groups with financial resources and professional killing abilities, who hate General Musharraf so much that they are prepared to get him at any cost?
Who will benefit from his removal from the scene.
What are the capabilities of our civilian/military intelligence agencies to prevent such attacks?
Who is overall responsible for the security of President and COAS?
Who is the insider informing the highly professional assassins about the President's movement?
Who motivates suicide bombers that they will be considered martyrs going to heaven after killing themselves and will be with hoors in heaven?
Who is responsible for the loss of 14 innocent citizens, including 4 policemen, and 50 injured?
Who can protect the common citizens' life and property if the institutions are not able to protect the Head of State?
The majorities of people of Pakistan are tolerant and consider religion as a matter between men and his creator and they want to enjoy the life.
It is unfortunate that our politics is immersed with religious preaching and some parties are having their manifesto to establish the rule of Allah in the country without knowing the realities of today's world that a human advancement in science and technology and its knowledge is also an 'Ibadat.'
It is time that General Musharraf should take a firm stand and put the country on the road as vision by Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah who favours Pakistan to be a secular country where religion has nothing to do with the governance of Pakistan.
