The All Pakistan Traders Association (APTA) has accused the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) of "tampering with the documents" in connection with the issuance of no-objection certificate (NOC).
The APTA convener, in a letter to the FPCCI Secretary General, Aziz-ur-Rehman, on December 30 last year, brought to his notice that a letter was written to the FPCCI President in April last year, enclosing a set of memorandum and articles of association pertaining to the APTA with a request to issue the necessary NOC to the association.
He said that the NOC had been issued and submitted to the Director, Trade Organisation's office, but "a gross tampering of documents had been committed whereby the address of the association was criminally changed, while the list of sponsors/promoters was also tampered with and the names of certain outsiders were inserted illegally in place of genuine names."
The APTA said this had resulted in depriving several respectable members of the business community of their legitimate rights.
The APTA demanded of the FPCCI to investigate the matter urgently and advise them or, otherwise "we will be left with no alternative but to seek necessary legal action as well as the DTO's assistance and filing of an FIR, etc."
