US Under Secretary Richard Armitage on Friday expressed confidence that the Kashmir dispute will be resolved to the mutual satisfaction of Pakistan, India and the Kashmiri people.
"I just have great deal of more confidence now that it (Kashmir issue) will be resolved peacefully and to the mutual satisfaction of both India and Pakistan and most importantly the people of Kashmir," he told PTV in an interview.
"United States joins the Western world in congratulating the statesmanship of President Musharraf and Prime Minister Vajpayee as they have agreed to start a dialogue in February," Armitage said.
"We intend to be fully engaged to have a comfortable Pakistan," he added.
"Across the full range of Pak-US relationship, the global war on terrorism is certainly one," he said and added, "I am talking of cultural, social and economic co-operation as well."
To a question regarding prospects of Kashmir's solution, he said, "I don't have the road map but hope the issue will be resolved".
