Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Sunday said the recent overtures between Pakistan and India, and the composite dialogue being held between the two countries next month will hopefully lead to a major breakthrough in the region.
He stated this while talking with Sardar Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari, chief, Pakistan Millat Party, and leader of the National Alliance, who met him at the Prime Minister's House here on Sunday.
The two leaders expressed the confidence that the recently concluded 12th Saarc summit would not only lead to durable peace in South Asia, but also promote efforts aimed at socio-economic development.
They also reviewed the political situation of the country, and expressed satisfaction over the smooth adoption of the 17th Constitutional Amendment by the Parliament.
They opined that this development would have a sobering impact on the country's politics, saying the government would now be able to concentrate on its development agenda.
