Members of Punjab Assembly Malik Abrar from PP-10 and Chaudhry Ayaz from PP-9 have criticised double standards of the Punjab government and said that they were not being provided the development funds of Rs 5 million per member.
"The government during the budget had promised to provide Rs 5 million to every member of the Provincial Assembly for the development work in his constituency. The government MPAs were given these funds and also share in the government's development funds, but the MPAs of the opposition were deprived of these funds," both the MPAs said while talking to reporters here on Monday.
Malik Abrar said that people of his constituency are also living in Pakistan and have right to get share in the development funds of the government.
"We have got mandate from the people and these people have right to get their problems solved and the attitude of the government is not fair with the people of the constituencies belonging to opposition parties," Malik Abrar, who is MPA of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), said.
He said that the roads are in a shabby condition in the cantonment area of Rawalpindi, Misreal Road, Qadriya Colony, Street 7, Allahabad, Naseerabad, Awan town are giving an outlook of ancient era.
But the people hailing from this area are being deprived of their rights just because they have not voted for puppets, he maintained.
He said that this attitude of the government towards the people falling in the constituencies of the opposition MPAs is giving clear indications of the anti-people policies of the government.
