Provincial Minister for Special Education Qudsia Lodhi has called for giving due respect and facilities to professionals in Pakistan so that they could work here more devotedly instead of going abroad.
While addressing the inaugural session of two-day conference organised by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Pakistan (IEEP) here on Tuesday, she said that efforts must be made to improve the working environment in Pakistan particularly for scientists.
Talking about disabled people, she said that these people deserve special attention. 'Islamabad has already been declared disabled friendly city, while efforts are underway to give same status to Lahore', she said.
There are around 1.8 million people in Pakistan suffering from different disabilities, she added.
President IEEP Chaudhry Asgher Ali Randhawa said on the occasion that IEEP is regularly holding seminars, workshops and conferences to update the knowledge of engineers.
He advised the engineers to equip themselves with modern trends for getting professional excellence.
Engineer Agha Nazim Ali, Engineer Fazal Ahmed also spoke the occasion.
An exhibition of electrical material and equipment was also arranged on this occasion.
