Lieutenant General Ahsan Saleem Hyat has assumed the command of 5-Corps. On arrival at the Corps Headquarters, he was presented salute by a smartly turned out guard of honour. Thereafter, the Corps Commander was introduced to the staff officers.
Lieutenant General Ahsan Saleem Hyat was commissioned in 1967 in the Armoured Corps.
He has rich experience of command, Quarter Master General in the General Headquarters, Rawalpindi, before assuming the present command. He is married and has three sons.
Lieutenant General Tariq Waseem Ghazi has taken over as Commandant, National Defence College, Islamabad.
