The Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) with the support of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) launched second annual Gender in Journalism Award 2004 for print media journalists.
All articles published between January 1 to December 31, 2003 on gender-sensitive reports by male and female journalists are eligible for entry in the award.
PPF secretary-general Owais Aslam Ali has notified that one award for excellence in gender-sensitive reporting will be open to both males and females among the entrants.
The second award will be for outstanding coverage of any issue by a female journalist. This award will recognise the competence and contributions of women to journalism.
News, articles, columns and features published in Pakistan print media during 2003 will be eligible for entry.
The entries are to reach the co-ordinator of the award, Pakistan Press Foundation, press centre, Sahara-e-Kamal Ataturk, Karachi by January 31, 2004. The award will be adjudged by a panel of eight media professionals.
