The fruit exporters have said that the Duty and Tax Remissions Rules for Exports (DTRE) scheme, launched by the Central Board of Revenue (CBR), has proved a better substitute of SRO 410, which allows duty-free import of accessories for re-export.
This was stated by the Chairman, Fruit, Vegetable Processors and Exporters Association, Mateen Siddiqui, after a meeting of the association with the Collector of Exports, Javed Qazi.
He said that the Collectorate had issued expeditious approvals of the export contracts of all the genuine fruit exporters.
The Customs was providing maximum facilitation to the exporters in their efforts to boost the exports, he said.
Khalid Ijaz, a leading member of the association, said after the meeting that the Collector ha assured him that his request for the DTRE approval to import packing material would be considered favourably.
